- I recently purchased a USR Sportster 28.8 external modem. This is one of
- the new models with the 33.6K speeds. I bought this to replace an old
- ZyXEL U-1496E on my Linux system. I use the modem for dialing in and
- out, both interactive logins and UUCP (I also use SLIP and PPP). I'm
- having a problem with one of my UUCP feeds that has a Telebit WorldBlazer
- modem. I can dial in to the WorldBlazer with the Sportster without any
- problems, but the WorldBlazer can't dial in to the Sportster. PEP on the
- WorldBlazer is disabled when dialing in to my system, so that shouldn't
- be causing any problems, and error correction and compression is also
- disabled. The Sportster is configured to accept connections even if
- error correction and/or compression are disabled, and I've verified this
- by using the ZyXEL to dial in to the Sportster after disabling EC and C
- (I used AT&K0 on the ZyXEL). Any suggestions?
